Credit Card Woes

So, I went to charge something on my card this morning and it was declined!? What's up with that?
Ok, I pull out the other card and swipe it... declined!? What's going on?

I called the company and it appears that they didn't get my last payment which I mailed 14 days ago. This is NOT good. I use these cards for gas and so many of my bills, it's not even funny.

I wonder what the post office has done with my checks?

Now the rounds of phone calls begin.

Nothing new

Yep. That about sums it up.

There is nothing new going on in my life. We are still working on both houses. Every day brings us closer to the sale date for the old house, so that is good, but progress seems to be so slow.

We had a good sized ice storm last week. Most of it is thawed out now. Minimal damage, but quite inconvenient. I'd love to have some snow, but not anything like Western New York. 141 inches in 10 days! That's more than 10 feet! Looks something like this...

I'm so glad to have had the last few days off!

I got my taxes done (by a professional - for the first time) yesterday.

Today, I'm filling out the FAFSA online. For those who don't know, this is the form that the government requires so they can tell you what your "contribution" must be for your kids college education. Nice huh!? I'm not quite finished though. Got to go look up a bit of info at the other house.

That's right... we still have both houses. I do all my non-work online stuff at the old house since I'm maintaining an internet connection there. High speed isn't available in the sticks of central Delaware. I'm also getting new laminate floors put down in the den, laundry, 1/2 bath and kitchen this week. We took up the carpet and linoleum which looked terrible. We decided to do the whole area in laminate instead of part carpet, part tile and the rest laminate. It was just easier all around that way. The new floor should add a good bit of value in this softening market.

One of these days I'll get around to downloading some pictures from my camera and posting them here. Sorry to be so bad about that.
